Breauna Dorris, the daughter of a homeless Florida lady who tragically perished at the hands of a 14-foot alligator, claims that her mother did not provoke the reptile before it fatally pulled her into a canal.On Friday, September 22, an alligator in Largo, Clearwater, pulled a 41-year-old woman into a canal, where she was later found to be in its mouth.According to DailyMail.com, Peckham’s daughter Breauna Dorris has stepped forward to defend her mother, claiming that the alligator most likely attacked her while she was making her way to her homeless camp in the dark.

She had disregarded the neighborhood’s warning notices before entering a no guilty plea in September. She has a history of larceny convictions, run-ins with the law, and minor charges dating back to 2014.
A neighborhood citizen who was en route to a job interview saw the incident at first and immediately called the Largo Fire Department. Other locals later saw the grisly scene as the alligator dragged its body away, and some of them recorded the occurrence.
Following the incident, emergency personnel and representatives of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission eventually removed and euthanized the alligator.The alligator was neutralized and Peckham’s body was removed from the water. Residents living nearby the incident, such Jennifer Dean, said, “A lot of my neighbors were out here and they’re the ones that told me about the gator.”We heard a gun while we were standing here, so I guess they killed the alligator,” she continued.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office was able to retrieve the victim’s body from the water after the alligator died. “I could tell there was a body in his mouth, so I started recording,” JaMarcus Bullard told Bay News 9, according to his interview with the news outlet. “I came down to the fire department and reported it to them,” he claimed.
