A woman of two from Indiana who complained to her family that she couldn’t drink enough water to feel satisfied passed away from water poisoning, an uncommon result of consuming too much water too quickly. Over the Fourth of July holiday, 35-year-old Ashley Summers was at Lake Freeman with her husband and two young girls when she started to feel terribly dehydrated.
Her brother Devon Miller told WRTV that “someone said that she drank four bottles of water in 20 minutes.” She drank 64 ounces in 20 minutes, which is equivalent to the 16 ounces in an ordinary water bottle. That is 0.5 gallons. That is the recommended daily intake for you.

Summers passed out in her garage after getting home from the trip before being brought to IU Health Arnett Hospital. The physicians informed her family that she had died from water intoxication because she never recovered consciousness. It came as a shock,Malaise, headaches, discomfort, nausea, and muscle cramping are all signs of water toxicity. Summers was an organ donor who helped save the lives of five other people by giving her heart, liver, lungs, kidneys, and some of her bone tissue.
