Katie Davenport Wiki – Katie Davenport Biography
A father tragically died just hours after the funeral for his 23-year-old daughter, who fell to her death from the fire escape of a nightclub. Katie Davenport, who worked as a care home assistant, was on a night out with her work colleagues on September 4, 2022, when she got involved in an “altercation” at Hey Amigos nightclub in Southport, Merseyside
An inquest into Davenport’s death at Bootle Town Hall on Thursday, March 9 heard that Nathan Loughman, a door supervisor at the nightclub at the time, placed Katie and her friends on the fire escape at around 2 am, in an effort to defuse the dispute. But when he later turned around to check if she and her friend had left, he found that Katie had jumped off the escape, Liverpool Echo reported.

Katie Davenport Cause of Death
She suffered traumatic brain injuries and underwent brain surgery at The Walton Centre, where she died 10 days later on 13 September with her boyfriend Niall by her side. Katie’s sister Lianne Clegg made a heartfelt statement at the inquest that described how the family suffered another terrible loss the night of her funeral when their father suffered an epileptic fit and tragically died on October 14.
Katie’s funeral took place at West Lancashire Cemetery and Crematorium, a month after her death, according to DailyMail. In the statement, Clegg described Katie as the ‘most beautiful, funniest girl’ as she said, “I can’t even begin to describe the pain and heartache we have gone through since losing our beautiful Katie.”
The statement also noted that Katie had struggled with her mental health, seeking help for depression and anxiety. “She reached out for help and along with the help and support of her partner Niall had got to a place in her life where she was confident, outgoing and loving life,” the statement read. “She worked extremely hard she was motivated and determined to save as much money as she could to live a happy and comfortable life.”
Her family, in the statement, recalled how they received a video of Katie dancing, with her being “confident, outgoing and loving life. “I, along with other family members, received a Snapchat from Katie 20 minutes before the accident, she was happy, dancing and laughing on the dance floor of Hey Amigos showing no signs of distress or upset,” the statement continued. ”
Her partner Niall was in contact with her via messages all night messages that show she was not upset or distressed and, in fact, having a really good night out with her work colleagues.” Senior coroner Julie Goulding concluded the inquest by noting that Katie died as a result of significant brain injuries, adding that there was ‘insufficient evidence she wanted to take her own life’.
