Danny Javier Biography
Daniel Morales Javier was a singer-songwriter, musician, actor, TV host, and businessman from the Philippines. He was born on August 6, 1947, and died on October 31, 2022. He was known as the oldest member and lead singer of the popular musical trio The APO Hiking Society, which also included Boboy Garrovillo and Jim Paredes. He came up with the term “OPM,” which stands for “Original Pinoy Music,” “Original Philippine Music,” or “Original Pilipino Music.” It was first used to describe the music of the Philippines, Philippine pop songs, especially ballads, and any music written by a Filipino that became popular in the Philippines from the late 1970s until now.
Javier’s compositions include Show Me A Smile (1976), Pag-ibig (1978), Pumapatak ang Ulan (1978), Kaibigan (1978), Doo bidoo (1978), Kabilugan ng Buwan (1980), Blue Jeans (1981), Di Na Natuto (1985), Kumot At Unan (1991), Awit ng Barkada (1991), Just A Smile Away (1992),[2] Lumang Tugtugin (1992) and Isang Dangkal (1999)
Personal life and death
Javier was born in Abuyog, Leyte. His father was Leonardo “Andok” Javier Sr. of Leyte. He was the brother of comedian George “Dyords” Javier, former actor turned photographer and government official Jimmy Javier, and former Javier, Leyte mayor and current Leyte vice governor Leonardo “Sandy” Javier Jr., who also owns the Andok’s Litson Corporation food chain. He went to both Ateneo de Manila University and San Beda University. Singer-actress Mica His niece is Javier. Jobim, who is Javier’s son, worked as a radio DJ at Jam 88.3 and as a stage actor in Eto Na! Musikal nAPO, which was a musical version of the first tribute album Kami nAPO Muna.
Javier also started a T-shirt business called Pidro: Ang Saplot Ng Bayan. It was based on a character he made up called Pidro, who was a man from the countryside of the Philippines who came to Manila looking for luck. After APO broke up in 2010, Javier moved to General Santos City and started making regular trips to the United States. In 2011, Javier was so sick that he was close to dying. He had kidney failure, pneumonia, emphysema, heart failure, hepatitis, diabetes, and sepsis. Later, he started to support moringa as a traditional and alternative medicine. Javier died on October 31, 2022, at the age of 75, after being sick for a long time. His daughter Justine confirmed this.
