Ronan Kanda’s loved ones said his “hearts are broken” following his death on Wednesday. West Midlands Police said an autopsy showed he had been stabbed twice at the scene in Mount Road, Lanesfield, shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Arrested
Five people, aged between 15 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of his murder. In a statement released through police, his family said: “Ronan was a warm-hearted, loving and caring 16-year-old. Our son and a brother who would do anything for anyone.
“He was a funny character who made everyone around him laugh. He is cruelly taken from us and our hearts are broken.
‘We want everyone to pray for his soul now. We will always love you, our son and my brother, and now you will live within us.’
Police said a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man arrested earlier this week remain in police custody, while another 16-year-old boy was arrested overnight and is in custody.
A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man arrested earlier this week have been released on police bail. Detective Inspector Ade George, who is leading the investigation, requested information.
Investigation
He said: ‘We are making good progress with our investigations but we still need someone with information to contact us if they saw or heard anything on Wednesday night.
“I am very interested in hearing from anyone who was driving in the area at the time.
“We know there were cars on the road in the moments leading up to the attack, and it may be that the dash cam footage will provide us with important evidence.”
“It’s very important that you speak to us if you have any information about what happened, who was responsible, or why Ronan was targeted.”
