In a terrifying video from Arman Tchoukadarian’s Ring camera, 65-year-old Beverly Baker was recorded smashing the windows of her neighbor’s Pasadena home with a pickaxe. During the incident, it was alleged that a newborn baby was inches away. She is seen approaching the house and banging on the windows before leaving and returning to repeat the act of her moments after her.
She also recorded him saying, as she left the property to return to her house, “I’ll be back, come out!” Tchoukadrian’s mother-in-law was present at the house with her six-week-old daughter. who was said to be sleeping in her bassinet near one of the windows that Baker had hit with her pickaxe, the grandmother was able to grab the baby from under the window just before she broke.

The defendant is in police custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, October 26, on felony vandalism charges. Commander Bill Grisafe of the Pasadena Police Department said there was no relationship between the two and that Baker is likely experiencing some type of mental health crisis. “We have no reason, no motive for this,” Grisafe said.
Tchoukadarian says that Baker owns multiple properties in the area but that he had never seen her before. She fears she may have been the target of a racist attack because she is Armenian, but police have yet to confirm the woman’s motive. Records show that Baker owns a $1 million home across the street where the family lives with one of her children and her family, the Daily Mail reports.
Los Angeles has witnessed an increase in violent crime where the figures have risen to 4.2%. Tchoukadarian feels that her family has “lost their safe place” after the incident, the owner also estimated around $20,000 in damages due to the attack. Tchoukadarian told KTLA in an interview, “If my mother-in-law hadn’t acted as quickly as she did, my daughter wouldn’t be here. She broke a window, she came back.
My mother-in-law came out screaming and yelling to get my attention.” She continued, “The police found her, nonchalant, walking around with a spike on her back, as if she had just finished working with him.” According to the report, Baker returned several times as seen in the footage, with her beak swinging on her shoulders and yelling, “Any questions? Any questions? I’ll be back, get out.”
She was later arrested by Pasadena police at her home, which is just a few blocks from the house she vandalized, and she is being held on $20,000 bond. Tchoukadarian added that the family was completely traumatized, adding: “She needs to be in the right place, getting the right help. That’s no excuse to attack someone’s family, attack someone’s newborn and ruin her dream house, ruin her life and her sanity.”
