“It was private, it was wonderful, and we’d take the boat out to uninhabited islands and beach it and just explore, just the two of us,” Easterling wrote in the post. “I remember the first birthday when we were together and I took Olivia on a week-long adventure in the outer islands of the Bahamas surrounded by beautiful, peaceful and spectacular turquoise,” he said. The couple had rented a house on the isolated island. One day, while on the boat, the couple encountered a storm. “Olivia got behind me holding me tight as she navigated this little 23 foot vehicle with a central consul. The only instrument was a magnetic compass,” she wrote.
“I had a relationship with Elbow Cay but there was no visibility,” recalled Easterling, who then began to “wonder if the currents and the wind” swept his boat away from the Bahamas and toward Africa. “But as soon as the storm started, the winds died down, the rain stopped, the sun came out and the seas turned that beautiful turquoise color,” he explained. “When the fog cleared, you could see the Hopetown Lighthouse on Elbow Cay and we were perfectly on course. The rainbow started on the left and crystallized from horizon to horizon and that’s when the dolphins started jumping off the bow of the boat. guiding us under the rainbow,” John explained of the magical sight.
“Oliva looked at me like she was a superhero and I knew she was all about blind faith and dumb luck,” he shared. “As the dolphins led us over the beautiful water, under the rainbow towards the lighthouse, we both recognized that the fingerprints of the supernatural were everywhere, and that is the way we live our lives.”
