According to the Apache Police Department, Texas authorities once claimed that Bailey was in possession of a “ghost gun,” a revolver with no serial number, a bulletproof vest, a duty belt, and ammo in one instance. Bailey was also allegedly driving an older surplus police car. Lehew discovered that the items convinced Texas authorities that Bailey was impersonating a peace officer.The officer located Bailey in Apache City, and with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies, quickly and safely took Bailey into custody. He was brought to the Caddo County jail and released after posting a $200,000 bond.
