A former Google executive claims he was fired from big tech after he rebuffed advances from his boss, who allegedly groped him at a fancy dinner and later accused him of committing “microaggressions.” In a lawsuit filed in November, Ryan Olohan, a 48-year-old father of seven from New Jersey, claims Tiffany Miller rubbed his abs, complimented his physique and said his marriage lacked “spice,” according to the Daily Mail.
Miller, who is Asian, told Olohan that he knew he had a particular liking for Asian women, referring to his wife, according to the Daily Mail. The former executive said he reported the alleged incident to Google’s Human Resources department the following week. The alleged event took place at the Fig & Olive restaurant in Manhattan, but the matter was never resolved.

Olohan went on to say that his boss began reporting him to human resources for “microaggressions” in retaliation against him. Furthermore, he claimed that after 16 years with the organization, the harassment continued until his dismissal in August 2022. Ryan Olohan had just been named managing director of food, beverage and restaurant and had joined a new management group that included Tiffany Miller at the time of the alleged event on the company outing.
Because many of his co-workers had been “drinking alcohol to excess,” the New Jersey father admitted that he initially felt uncomfortable bringing it up. Later that night, when he mentioned that Miller might have consumed “too much alcohol”, he was told that she was just “Tiffany being Tiffany”. Olohan reported the encounter to Google’s Human Resources division, which “openly admitted that the complaint would certainly escalate if the complaint were ‘in reverse’: a woman accusing a white man of harassment,” according to the lawsuit.
The incident was not discussed or investigated, and Olohan alleged in the lawsuit that Miller retaliated against him after reporting the incident to Human Resources. Supervisors were present on two occasions referenced in the lawsuit where Miller allegedly yelled at him and reported him to human resources for “microaggressions.” Miller was “being mean” in both cases, according to Google HR business partner Jacky Schiestel, while Olohan did not engage in any microaggressions. Olohan claimed that Miller’s retaliation and animosity caused her anxiety and the impression that he was on probation.
Olohan claimed that he began to experience increased pressure from his manager, who complained that his management team consisted of “obviously too many white men.” According to the lawsuit, in July, he was urged to fire a male employee to create a path on his team for a woman, the New York Post reported. Olohan’s employment with Google ended the following month after 16 years of service.
The former executive said that during a video conference, a member of Google’s Employee Investigations team informed him that he would be fired for not being “inclusive.” Olohan was told that he was “capable” by commenting on the “step by step” of other employees and that he had shown bias towards top performers when he questioned why he was not inclusive.

“This lawsuit is a fictitious account of events filled with numerous untruths, fabricated by a disgruntled former employee, who was Ms. Miller’s superior at Google,” Miller’s spokesperson said in a statement to the New York Post. “Ms. Miller never made any ‘advances’ towards Mr. Olohan, which witnesses can easily corroborate.”
