Samantha Miller Wiki – Samantha Miller Biography

The mother of a bride who was allegedly murdered by a drunk motorist as she was leaving her wedding on Tuesday gave testimony in court. When Jamie Lee Komoroski allegedly struck a golf cart carrying newlyweds Samantha Miller and Aric Hutchinson in April, she was allegedly more than three times over the legal blood alcohol limit. Following impact statements from the victim’s loved ones, Komoroski, 25, was reportedly denied bond when she virtually appeared before a court on Tuesday, according to ABC News.

The bride’s mother, Lisa Miller, asserted, “She didn’t just kill my child.” “She killed us all,” I said. According to ABC, the court asked that the trial be hastened so that it may happen in May 2024, but added that if it didn’t happen by then, Komoroski might be released on a $150,000 surety bail and put under house arrest. Komoroski “looked visibly shaken throughout the proceeding,” according to the publication. Circuit Judge Michael Nettles declared, “This is undoubtedly a very tragic situation for all involved.”

Samantha Miller Cause of Death

According to a prior statement given to PEOPLE by Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal, 34-year-old Miller passed away from blunt force trauma he experienced in the collision on April 28. She was still dressed in her bridal gown. Hutchinson had “reconstruction surgeries, numerous broken bones, and a brain injury,” according to a GoFundMe campaign set up by Aric Hutchinson’s mother Annette. Two other people were hurt, but they lived.

According to the toxicological results from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Komoroski allegedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.261 percent, according to WCSC. In South Carolina, the legal limit is 0.08. The outlet claims that Komoroski was observed by numerous witnesses as being “dazed and confused” after reportedly driving 65 mph in a 25 mph zone and colliding with the golf cart, according to an amended report by the Folly Beach Police Department.

According to the report, Komoroski reportedly said, “I was driving, and then all of a sudden something hit me,” in response to police inquiries about what transpired following the collision. Authorities also claimed that Komoroski nearly collapsed when asked to do the sobriety test in a previously made public affidavit. Komoroski is currently charged with three counts of DUI causing grave bodily harm or death as well as reckless vehicular murder.

Miller and Hutchinson, both 34, had just left their wedding reception the night of the incident, with people sending them off in a celebration complete with sparklers, while Komoroski allegedly spent her night “bar hopping.” According to court documents acquired by PEOPLE, Hutchinson sued for wrongful death less than a month after the incident, claiming that his late wife’s demise may have been avoided had the “negligent” restaurants not over-served Komoroski with alcohol.

The driver “began at El Gallo Bar and Grill near Daniel Island,” according to the lawsuit, and then “moved on to Folly Beach, where she began bar-hopping down Center Street, making stops at the Drop In, The Crab Shack, and Snapper Jacks.”
