Robert Edward Moore Wiki – Robert Edward Moore Biography
A 75-year-old man in Florida was arrested when officials were able to clearly identify the suspect from a photo published in a newspaper after he hit a hole-in-one at a local golf course. According to court documents acquired by Law&Crime, Robert Edward Moore was arrested last week and charged with one count of aggravated manslaughter of an aged person in the death of Dean Zook.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Glenview Country Club in The Villages at about 6:41 p.m. on June 28 in response to a reported vehicular accident. Prior to the arrival of first responders, a woman contacted 911 from the scene and reported that her husband had been attacked by an unknown man.

The woman informed investigators that her husband, Zook, was pulling into the parking lot when he accidentally hit a black Lexus RX350, inflicting “minor damage.” That’s when the alleged attacker, identified as Moore in the affidavit, approached the pair and said, “What the hell, you hit my car!” Zook confessed blame and sought to exchange insurance information before Moore allegedly hit him “in the jaw with a closed fist.”

“The Victim attempted to put up his hands to defend himself, but was unable to protect himself from the continuing punches thrown by the unknown subject,” police stated. “The unknown subject then realized the black Lexus RX350 did not belong to him and left the Victim without saying anything else.”
Deputies were unable to locate the attacker, who fled before authorities arrived, although surveillance video showed him wearing a “distinctive blue polo shirt with a dark blue collar.” Moore is 6-foot-2 and weighs roughly 210 pounds, according to the paper, while Zook is 5-foot-8 and weighs about 160 pounds.
When deputies began interviewing him, the victim was conscious, but his speech began to slur and he grew shaky on his feet. Medics responded quickly and rushed the guy to Villages Hospital, where physicians confirmed he had a brain bleed. He was flown to Shands Medical Hospital by helicopter but was already unconscious when he arrived.Zook’s condition deteriorated further, and he died on July 15 “due to the trauma he sustained from being punched.”
An anonymous tipter wrote detectives a message the day after the alleged attack, identifying the culprit as “Bob” and indicating he was at a local country club earlier that day. The letter also included a picture of a man who appeared to be the culprit and was wearing “the same distinct blue polo shirt.” Investigators were able to locate the suspect’s credit card, which he used to purchase dinner at the Glenview Country Club, and it revealed that the cardholder was “Robert Moore.”
A investigator conducting a Google search for “Robert Moore” discovered a story from the Villages-News dated November 8, 2022, “referencing Robert Moore scoring a hole-in-one on Hole #6 at the Tarpon Boil Executive Golf Course.” Moore was dressed similarly to the guy seen in surveillance footage from the tragic assault in the photo.
On July 26, detectives went to Moore’s house, where he said he only assaulted Zook because he thought he was trying to run after hitting the car Moore thought was his, and that he waited for police to arrive for around 20 minutes after the attack. Moore’s assertions were purportedly undermined by surveillance footage, and he was arrested without incident. Moore was released after paying a $30,000 bond, according to court records. On September 26, 2023, he is set to appear in court for his arraignment before Judge Mary P. Hatcher.
