Rachel Corbett Biography
Rachel Corbett is a podcaster, writer, and presenter on television, radio, and podcasts in her home country of Australia. She is also a regular panelist on Network 10’s The Project and fills in as a host for the program on occasion. In addition, she broadcasts a variety of podcasts.
Career
2002 marked the beginning of Corbett’s career in radio, when she joined forces with Steve Bedwell, James Brayshaw, and Russell Gilbert to co-host The Morning Madhouse on Triple M Melbourne.
In 2004, she made the move to the Central Coast, where she began working alongside Paddy Gerrard as a co-host on the morning show on Sea FM.
In 2007, Corbett assisted Michael Wipfli in hosting the breakfast show on 92.9FM in Perth. The show was intended for Em Rusciano, but Corbett filled in for her on her maternity leave.
2009–2013
Corbett was the host of a number of shows over the years 2008 and 2009, including the Hot30 Countdown with Sam Mac on 2Day FM and summer breakfast on Nova 969.
Corbett was recruited to Triple M Sydney in 2009, and during that time, she served as a co-host on The Paul Murray Show alongside Paul Murray. In 2010, the show was rebranded as Paul & Rach and relocated to the breakfast time slot. It later moved to the drive time slot.
In 2011, Murray resigned from his position as host of Triple M, and Corbett was promoted to host of The Grill Team. In 2011, it was revealed that Corbett will be serving as one of the hosts of the new drive show titled “Merrick and the Highway Patrol,” which also starred Merrick Watts and Jules Schiller. This program was distributed on Southern Cross Austereo to more than 40 Triple M stations located all around Australia.
Television
Corbett made her debut on the inaugural season of Big Brother Australia in the year 2001. After breaking into the home without permission, she was kicked out of there four days later. In the latter part of that year, she was one of nine roommates who participated in a special version of The Weakest Link. During that show, she was the second person to be eliminated from the competition.
Corbett was a writer and performer for the show “The Roast” that aired on ABC2 from 2011 to 2013.
In 2014, Corbett started making frequent appearances on television, both as a guest panelist and as a presenter. She has made appearances on a variety of television programs, such as Today, Paul Murray Live, The Verdict, Studio 10, The Project, Have You Been Paying Attention?, and Hughesy, We Have a Problem.
Corbett began working for The Project, which airs on Network 10, in the year 2015; as of the year 2022, she is a regular Thursday panelist.
Podcasting
Corbett’s first foray into the world of independent podcasting was a collaboration with her former radio co-host, Paul Murray, entitled “Paul and Rach.” Since then, she has produced a number of her own podcasts, one of which is called You’ve Gotta Start Somewhere. This podcast is an interview series in which Australian media stars discuss their experiences breaking into the entertainment industry. In addition to that, she is the host of the podcast known as PodSchool, in which she provides guidance to others who are interested in beginning their own podcasts.
Since 2015, Corbett has been working as a professor at the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School, where he teaches radio and podcasting. In 2016, she established PodSchool, an online podcasting education with the goal of assisting individuals in beginning their very own podcasts.
Corbett served as Head of Podcasts for Mamamia from 2017 to 2020. She also hosted a variety of the company’s episodes during that time, including Lady Startup, Before the Bump, and Sealed Section. During the time that she was in charge of the network, she managed the production of more than 20 shows and increased the audience to more than 90 million downloads and more than 1 million unique listeners on a monthly basis. Corbett started working at Nova Entertainment in September 2020 in the role of head of podcasts and digital content.
