Nora Fatehi Biography

Nora Fatehi is a Canadian actress, model, dancer, singer, and producer who is most recognized for her work in the Indian cinema business. She was born on February 6, 1992, in Canada. She has made appearances in movies that are made in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.

Her first film was the Hindi production Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans, in which she made her debut.

She rose to prominence in the Telugu film industry by performing item numbers in movies such as Temper, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Kick 2. In addition, she has acted in two films in the Malayalam language, namely Double Barrel and Kayamkulam Kochunni.

She participated in the ninth season of the reality television show Bigg Boss in 2015 and was eliminated from the competition on day 84. She took part in the 2016 season of the dance competition Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, which is a reality television show. She made an appearance in the Bollywood film Satyameva Jayate, in which she was seen in a remade version of the song “Dilbar” [7], which became the first Hindi song to have gained such numbers in India as it surpassed 20 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours after its release. Additionally, she worked with the Moroccan hip-hop group Fnare to produce an Arabic rendition of the song “Dilbar.”

In 2019, she released her first international English debut single, titled “Pepeta,” which was the result of a collaboration with Tanzanian singer and songwriter Rayvanny. She was selected to participate in the song “Light The Sky,” which was written for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which was held in Qatar. She worked on the track alongside musicians such as RedOne, Manal, Balqees, and Rahma Riad.

Early life 

The family of Fatehi is originally from Morocco. She was conceived and brought up in the country of Canada. During interviews, she has remarked that she feels as though she will always be “an Indian at heart.”

Career

A role in the Hindi film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans was where Fatehi’s acting career got its start. After that, she made her debut in Telugu cinema with an item number called “Ittage Recchipodham” in the film Temper, which was directed by Puri Jagannadh.  She has also appeared in a cameo alongside Emraan Hashmi and Gurmeet Choudhary in the film Mr. X, which was directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. She played a supporting role in the film. Later on, Fatehi made an appearance in item numbers for movies, such as the song “Manohari” from Baahubali: The Beginning[13] and the song “Kukkurukuru” from Kick 2.

At the end of June 2015, she signed a contract to appear in the Telugu film Sher. At the end of August 2015, she secured a contract to play opposite Varun Tej in the upcoming Telugu film Loafer, which will be directed by Puri Jagannadh. At the end of November 2015, she secured a contract to appear in the film Oopiri. As a wild card contestant, Fatehi entered the Bigg Boss house in December 2015, while the show was already in the ninth season of its run. [16] She was allowed to stay in the house for a total of three weeks until being kicked out in the twelfth week (Day 83). Additionally, she competed on the 2016 season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. She played the lead role of an actress in My Birthday Song, which was directed by Sanjay Suri and starred her opposite.

She became an exclusive artist for the record label T-Series after signing a contract with the company in February 2019, and she will appear in upcoming films, music videos, web series, and web films produced by the firm.

After that, she made her debut in the dance movie Street Dancer 3D, which was released in 2020 and was her first cinematic appearance in a supporting role.

When Fatehi’s song “Dilbar” surpassed one billion views on YouTube on March 6, 2021, she made history as the first African-Arab female performer to accomplish this feat.
