Miles Bryant, is charged with concealing the death of Susana Morales and a false report of a crime. A Doraville police officer has been arrested in connection to the death of 16-year-old Susana Morales, according to the Gwinnett Police Department.
A statement said 22-year-old Miles Bryant of the Doraville Police Department is being charged with concealing the death of another and making a false report of a crime. Bryant is being held at the Gwinnett Detention Center without bond. He was arrested while off duty, said Hideshi Valle of the Gwinnett County Police Department.

During the course of the investigation, detectives developed sufficient probable cause to arrest him (Bryant) today, but the investigation is still ongoing and fairly new,” Valle said. “If there are more charges in the future, they will be known.”
The Gwinnett County Police Department said its detectives are continuing to investigate Morales’ death. Officer Valle added that the medical examiner is in the process of reviewing Morales’ cause of death. “At this time, there is no known relationship between them (Bryant and Morales),” Valle said.
Jasmine, the sister of Susana Morales, said that she was buried on Monday. They are angry and saddened to hear that a police officer is charged in connection with her death. “I am completely surprised, honestly. I have no words. I didn’t expect it. We didn’t expect it.
We didn’t know what to expect, but probably an officer was the least of the theories I worried about,” Jasmine said. Susana’s family said they do not believe the former officer and the teenager met previously. “I want to know everything honestly,” Jasmine said. “That’s what we’re waiting for, for the whole truth to come out to put it all together and get the closure we’ve been waiting for so long.”
Now, the family is focusing on how they want Susana to be remembered. “I want her to be remembered for her kind soul. She was sweet and nice,” Jasmine said. Jasmine has a strong message for former officer Bryant. “He doesn’t know what’s coming for him,” Jasmine said.
“I promise that everything is coming to play, and we will know everything soon. Everyone will get what they deserve at the end of the day. If he’s not here, he’ll be up there.” In a social media post, Doraville police said Bryant no longer worked with them, calling him “now a former police officer” after the Gwinnett County Police Department served him with felony warrants.
“The City of Doraville and its Police Department are fully cooperating with the Gwinnett Police Department in their investigation of Mr. Bryant,” the Doraville Police Department wrote. “Our prayers are with the family and friends of Susana Morales and all others affected by this tragedy.”
