Lizzo recently left all of her fans wondering the same thing when she stepped out on Saturday night with what appeared to be a shiny new engagement ring on her finger. After nearly a year of dating, the rapper got engaged to his boyfriend Myke Wright.
According to Media Take Out, two people close to Lizzo confirmed that the comedian proposed to her and she said yes. While the ‘Juice’ rapper is said to be delighted with her engagement, her friend states that “[despite her social media posts], Lizzo is very private so I don’t think she plans on ever announcing it… maybe after the wedding.”

Lizzo first sparked dating rumors in 2021 after being spotted by an unknown man. She did not confirm their relationship status until April 18 this year. During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s radio show, ‘Radio Andy’. The host asked, “You were photographed in Los Angeles in February at Craig’s with a mystery man. Is your relationship still going strong?” In response, she said, “Sure, whatever. Yeah.”
Lizzo made her red carpet debut as a couple with Myke in June, after making fun of him on social media. They met at an FYC event for their Amazon Prime Video series ‘Watch Out for the Big Grrrls’. Lizzo also shared a photo of her pink gloved hand resting on top of Myke’s, revealing a sparkly piece on her ring finger. The ring sparked engagement rumors, with one fan commenting on the post, “Umm, is Lizzo engaged?” A second person asked, “IS @lizzo ENGAGED?!?” While another asked, “Lizzo got engaged omggg!?”
If Lizzo is truly committed to Myke, this seems to contradict her recent statement about having no expectations in a relationship. “I haven’t been with anyone for ten years. I can’t imagine being with someone for ten years,” she said on ‘The Breakfast Club.’ She continued, “A traditional relationship scares me, but love is eternal. I can love someone indefinitely.”
When asked by Charlamagne Tha God what a non-traditional relationship is like for her, she replied, “Monogamy, I think, is a bit claustrophobic for me. Because of the rules, I think. A non-monogamous love relationship, in my opinion, doesn’t have rules”.
“I think people who do poly and all that still have rules… I don’t want rules,” the 34-year-old added. “But that doesn’t mean he’s out here fucking and sucking and dodging, and it certainly doesn’t mean he is. It just means there are no expectations, allowing love to be the main event.”
