According to authorities, a Kentucky instructor was detained on 17 counts of sex crimes and additional accusations of evidence tampering on Tuesday. Kevin Lentz, 49, was charged with ten counts of disseminating obscene material to a juvenile and seven charges of engaging in a sexual performance with a child under the age of 16.

He was also accused with tampering with physical evidence on six counts. Lentz taught English at Henry Clay High School in Lexington. Following his arrest on Tuesday, he was placed on leave. According to a police subpoena received by the Lexington Herald-Leader, Lentz coerced a 9-year-old kid into emailing him images of his genitalia in July. Lentz is also accused of sending the boy adult pornography.
According to the subpoena, Lentz encouraged the youngster to erase the images “so his parents wouldn’t find out,” according to the Herald-Leader. Following his arrest, Lentz was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.
A $50,000 bond has been set for him. “Special Victims Section detectives continue to investigate, and no additional information is available at this time,” Lexington Police Department informed Fox News Digital. Fox News Digital requested a statement from Fayette County Public Schools but did not receive one.
