Joseph Maldonado-Passage, the ‘Tiger King’ of Reality TV, better known as Joe Exotic, is currently serving time in federal prison in Atlanta and he doesn’t seem too happy about it. Joe took to social media to speak out about the “terrible conditions and treatment” at the federal prison where he is currently confined. The 59-year-old was found guilty of a hit-and-run scheme that included an attempt to kill ‘Tiger King’ star and animal rights activist Carole Baskin.
The former zookeeper made two attempts to hire people to kill Baskin, his rival who had labeled him an animal abuser on the popular Netflix series “Tiger King.” He is currently serving a 21-year prison sentence. In a Twitter post on Thursday, November 3, he described his life in the Atlanta penitentiary as the “bottom of hell.” “I have officially landed at the bottom of hell, at the federal #prison in Atlanta GA. Senator Oshoff, Warnock and Walker are lying to you black voters in #Georgia because the animals at the Atlanta #zoo live better than your loved ones. are here i promise. #fixthisshit #atl,” he tweeted in reference to politicians Jon Oshoff, Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker.
He went on to describe the “terrible” conditions he was living in in a follow-up tweet hours later. “You can’t even buy shampoo, a comb, body wash. I asked the dentist today when I saw him to give me this dry socket for a toothbrush and he didn’t even give me one very nice guy but he told me to rinse my mouth with salt water and I ask where he gets the salt He hands me a packet of togo with a napkin and a fork and some pepper and salt and tells me this is all we have so what I got was enough salt to make it once at best “.
He continued: “Oshoff came here last week with his show of dogs and ponies and cameras looking to be a hero to the black community here in Georgia, but the minute he turned his back on hell itself. We’ve been on lockdown since 3pm. until 7am and I’m low security. So they can sit in the office and smoke and eat. I thought vaping in a federal building was illegal. I guess it’s not.”
Joe continued, “The BOP is its own little cartel, I’ve seen more corruption here than ever before in the world. Talk about legalized human trafficking, that’s because most people here can’t afford a lawyer. Politicians who have interest in products sold to prison and inmates should be illegal look up Keefe and see who has stock they are making billions that’s why.

Joe was also convicted of killing 5 tigers, selling tiger clubs, and falsifying wildlife records. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer after he was sentenced, but he is now in remission.
