A nurse and her two young children have been named by police today as victims of an alleged murder. Anju Asok, 35, and her two children, Jeeva Saju, six, and Janvi Saju, four, were found by Northamptonshire Police at a property in Kettering with serious injuries.
Unfortunately, the nurse died at the scene and her children died later in the hospital. A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and remains in police custody. Anju was described as a “committed and compassionate” nurse by her colleagues at Kettering General Hospital, many of whom were on strike yesterday.

They said that she was “liked and respected” by everyone. The hospital’s chief executive, Deborah Needham, said: “Yesterday we received the extremely disturbing news that one of our colleagues had died in circumstances which were being investigated by Northamptonshire Police.
“Anju Asok was an internationally trained nurse who joined our KGH family in 2021 working primarily in Barnwell B, one of our orthopedic wards. She “she was a committed and compassionate staff nurse, well-liked and respected by her dear friends and colleagues.
“All our thoughts are with her friends and family as they come to terms with this sudden loss.” The family is believed to be from Kerala, India and her mother was believed to have traveled to England earlier this year with her children joining her three months ago.

Business manager Pierino Geranio, who runs his uncle’s barbershop near the cul-de-sac where the incident occurred, said today: “You talk to people about it and they just can’t believe it. “I come here every day for work and you never expect something like this, it’s so tragic. It’s totally terrible, beyond comprehension.”
Describing what he saw on Thursday, he added: “There was a lot of police presence, a lot of ambulances. “But I never thought it would be this. It’s very sad for the family and everyone involved.” One woman, who did not want to be named, said: “Everything is so sad. It’s Christmas. It’s like the lake with the little children who died.”
