After reportedly travelling to Wisconsin to pick up a juvenile girl he had met online, take her home, and sexually assault her, an Antioch, Illinois, man was detained on Saturday. George Soriano, 25, is accused with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of travelling to meet a juvenile, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Incident Detail
Around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, deputies were called to a home on North Bonham Court in unincorporated Antioch after a caller informed the 911 operator that Soriano had picked up the caller and a friend from Soriano’s Wisconsin home. After picking up the girls, Soriano reportedly sexually assaulted one of them, a 13-year-old, at his home.
Further investigation, according to the sheriff’s office, revealed that Soriano had met the girls online. On Saturday, he made plans to pick them up by contacting them via the social networking app. The girls claimed that Soriano’s possession of a gun caused them to be terrified of him, according to a department news release.
Police added that Soriano might have spoken to at least one of the girls prior to the incident on Saturday. Soriano also maintained a marijuana growing operation, which was discovered during a search of his residence. Prior to a court appearance on Sunday, Soriano was taken into custody and lodged in the Lake County Jail.
