Due to a PED, or performance-enhancing drug test, NFL Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will miss the first six games of the season for the Cardinals. The NFL athlete described the league’s policy as “black and white” when discussing his six-game suspension after the discovery of a banned chemical in his blood.

Hopkins claims the violation is still in place because his blood contained 0.134 percent Ostarine, while the legal limit is 0.100 percent. After a session during training camp, the 30-year-old All-Pro wide receiver declared, “I’ve never used that type of substance. If you know what it is, it can be found in shampoo and many other products. Since the NFL is obviously pretty black and white, it goes without saying that I wish the regulation wasn’t so clear cut.” DeAndre Hopkins went on to say, “What it is, it is what it is. When you’re not working for the manufacturer, it can be difficult to determine when something is contaminated, even in a small amount.”

Hopkins accepts 6 game ban

The wide receiver went on to say that he was unaware of the history of the substance and that while he would have liked more time to contest the penalty, he decided it would be best to drop the appeal. He continued: “You know what I’m saying? When you’re not in charge of making anything or what goes down a conveyor belt, it’s hard to know what you can eat or do. “So, needless to say, I think the rules should change. I’ve never taken anything, but like I said, those things will take care of themselves. I don’t take many vitamins.

Hopkins can attend training camp and play in preseason games as far as extracurricular activities go. He can rejoin the team for the following games after the suspension. The 2020 NFL star, a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro wide receiver, was acquired by the Arizona Cardinals. He played every game in his debut season with the Cardinals and was selected to the Pro Bowl. His career stats include 115 receptions for 1,407 yards and six touchdowns, however due to injuries the athlete was limited to 10 games in 2021. However, he added 42 receptions for 572 yards and eight touchdowns to his total.
