Daniel Edward Rawlins, a 39-year-old resident of Braselton, was detained for the murder of his parents on Friday by deputies from the Hall County Sheriff’s office. A relative visiting the victims’ home on Union Church Road discovered Leanette Rawlins and William Rawlins unresponsive. At around 4:30 p.m., agents arrived on the scene and found that both victims had passed away.

When authorities came, Daniel Rawlins, who resided in an apartment on the site, was not there.Daniel Rawlins was spotted driving close to Interstate 85 in Braselton, according to an investigation employing Flock cameras. Officers were searching for him when they came across the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.
They evacuated the building before making a quick arrest of him in a hotel room. The Georgia State Patrol, a division of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, and the Braselton Police Department all contributed to the operation at the motel.
The victims’ bodies were delivered to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy, although the likely reason for their demise has not yet been disclosed. In connection with his killings, Daniel Rawlins has been accused of two charges of felony manslaughter.
