According to authorities, a Florida man who is accused of beating and strangling his ex-girlfriend before, during, and after a boat excursion to the Florida Keys claimed he was attempting to assist her. After his ex-girlfriend flagged down a Good Samaritan who called the police on his behalf, Christopher Peter Suda, 45, was detained early on Monday, August 14, on counts of domestic battery for strangling and battery.

According to Local 10, Suda “then grabbed the victim by the neck and pinned her against the center console.”She claimed that Suda forced her into her home’s side door in the 8500 block of Caribbean Boulevard, where she exited the building.
