A father in Illinois is facing multiple criminal charges after his son accused him of physical and sexual abuse. Ariel Carrasco, a Lake Villa resident, was arrested Wednesday after his son told school officials that he had abused and beaten him.

The minor said that the events occurred between December 2022 and March 2023. The police did not reveal the sex of the minor. It is not known how old the boy is, but police say he is less than 13 years old.
Carrasco, 46, is charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, two counts of domestic battery and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Authorities said they found evidence to show cause for the charges, but did not release details.
“Officers conducted interviews with the child and other family members,” the Lake Villa Police Department said in a statement. “The Department of Children and Family Services has been notified in an effort to develop a safety plan for the family.” Carrasco is being held at the Lake County Jail on $2 million bond.
