A 15-year-old girl from Alabama, who died of a fentanyl overdose late last month, allegedly told her parents that vaping drugs were being passed around her high school. The teenager was identified as Adrianna Taylor. She died a few days before her 16th birthday. She was found unconscious at her Semmes home on August 31.
According to Al.com, officials with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office believed the cause of death was due to ingestion of some pills that were possibly laced with fentanyl. A 17-year-old boy has been charged as an adult in connection with her death, however no arrests have been made in the case so far. According to WKRG, Capt. Paul Burch shared that Adrianna Taylor had dropped a tip to her parents about drugs being passed at Mary G Montgomery High School, where she was a student.

Authorities have previously suggested that Adrianna may not have known she was ingesting fentanyl when she died from an overdose of the potent drug. Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran told AL.com, “They crushed what they thought were opioids and snorted them,” adding, “After the fact, we determined the pills were laced with fentanyl, which caused his overdose.”
Adrianna’s death reportedly sparked anger in Alabama. State Rep. Matt Simpson, R-Daphne, shedding light on the same, stated, “When you talk about these deaths and what’s going on, we have to do something.”
In the first week of September, the 17-year-old suspect was charged with manslaughter and distribution of a controlled substance. Deputy Chief Paul Burch told a local outlet: “We are going to publicly prosecute anyone we find to be dealing in fentanyl-laced drugs.” He added: “We anticipate a series of charges against various individuals.”
Adrianna Taylor’s sister, Ashton Logan, on Facebook, shared a lengthy post that wrote: “Today I miss you so much it hurts I realized you’re not going to call me to pick you up from pawpaws or from school all that’s gone now. It was taken from you by a STUPID DRUG.” She added: “We lost our dad a little over a year ago so I know he’s so glad his baby is with him right now at the beautiful blue doors,” adding, “We weren’t just sisters. We were best friends.”
