After crashing in a tunnel in Norway, James May is now in hospital.

What led to James May’s hospitalization?

May’s car collided with a wall while he and Jeremy Clarkson were filming a drag race for The Grand Tour, breaking one of his ribs. At a Norwegian naval facility, May and Clarkson had to maneuver their rally cars through a tunnel and onto a rock face to complete the challenge.

Drivers had less than five seconds to react if they didn’t have enough space as the tunnel light only came on when cars were moving forward. The moment May seemed to understand this, she slammed on the brakes and crashed into a wall.

May was able to get into the hospital with the help of paramedics who quickly arrived, and the show was filmed without him.

According to a person who spoke to The Sun

Initially it had a really disturbing look. When Jeremy and Richard began to worry about their partner, the paramedics quickly responded. As usual for a production of this size, medical personnel are on standby in case, as they did here, things go disastrously wrong.

The source also stated that James received a severe blow to the head and is currently experiencing neck and back pain.

The Grand Tour was created by May, Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and Andy Wilman. Since its debut on November 18, 2016, the show has received generally positive reviews from critics and viewers alike.

James May began his career as deputy editor of The Engineer and Autocar publications. Later he contributed to various magazines including The Daily Telegraph, Top Gear and Car Magazine. May was the co-author of Oz and James’s Big Wine Adventure and the author of a book called May on Motors.

He is well known for his many television appearances and has presented shows including Driven on Channel 4 and narrated Road Rage School on BBC One.

Inside Killer Sharks, a Sky documentary, was shown in May. In the 2008 BBC mini-series James May’s Big Ideas, he too scoured the world looking for applications for ideas that were seen as mostly science fiction. In 2013, he went on to narrate To Space & Back, another documentary.

James, who founded the Head Squeeze YouTube channel, hosted JM’s Unemployment Tube in 2015. The channel features mock builds of Airfix models combined with cooking movies of his kitchen. The most recent video on the channel was posted in February 2021.
